So, though it seems like these special days to Apple come much too often, it is that time of year again. WWDC “13″ is set to take place on June 10th through 14th at San Francisco’s Moscone West Center. At the five-day event, many of Apple’s executives, engineers and developers from around the world will find out all the secrets that Apple have been keeping through-out the year.

I thought to myself, you know, it would be awesome to attend one of these events one day. That’s until I saw that the tickets were priced at $1,599, a whole thousand for tickets, and you thought Beyonce was “OC”. Well, for those who can swing it, the tickets will go on sale on Thursday, April 25, at 10:00 am (PT). Here’s the link —-> WWDC 2013 <—-

Can’t wait to see what Apple has in store!

Stevan Djurovic | Circuit Clock

Though still a concept that’s yet to be actually manufactured, the circuit wall clock is the epitome of minimalist art, while still keeping you on time. Designed by Stevan Djurovic, the circuit clock’s outer LED light works as the hour hand, while the inner LED light works as the minute hand. What an awesome concept, lets hope to see this in stores soon, and at a reasonable price!

Guiseppe Licari | Hummus

Rotterdam based artist Guiseppe Licari creates an awesome installation “Humus” at Tent Rotterdam located in the Netherlands. The installation features tree roots hanging from the ceiling, giving an earthly view at what happens under ground. Licari really captured the detailed root, providing overall a great exhibit.

The Fletcher Hotel | By Benthem Crouwel Architekten

What a outstanding new landmark for Amsterdam, architects Benthem Crouwel have designed this astounding 60 meter hotel, The Fletcher Hotel that is. As the slim silhouette and the blue light illuminate the Amsterdam skyline, this is one sight that will still be around even after sunset. Even though the space of the hotel overall is somewhat limited, Bethem Crouwel was successful in using the space efficiently. The Fletcher Hotel consists of 120 rooms that circle the staircase which is in the heart of the hotel, the sixteenth floor houses five meeting rooms that can also be combined into one unit linked together. Though the hotel offers much more, finally, to literally top the amazing space off, the sky lounge sits at the very top of the structure. Even though on the floor below of the sky lounge, the seventeenth floor attracts many guests to its restaurant  Providing a distant range of impressive views of the capital of the Netherlands, this is one spot that I’d like to top the night off.

Located in Madrid, Spain, A-cero Architects creates this very fresh and ultra contemporary abode, the B&N House. From an existing home, the creative owners found it necessary to update the previous image, and what an outcome!

Senseless Drawing Bot 2 – By: So Kanno & Takahiro Yamaguchi

Posted in art, contemporist, dope, electronics with tags , , , , , on February 1, 2013 by Zeven

I know this is by far only a concept, but this would be so much better if it was just “tweaked” just a little finer. This could actually go somewhere, an “hands-free” abstract painter! Dope!

Designboom covers the specs:

“Back in 2011 designboom covered the work of Japanese new media artists So Kanno and Takahiro Yamaguchi with their senseless bot here, they have now sent designboom their latest project – the senseless drawing bot sequel, number 2. the self-propelling contraption sprays sporadic line-work across a surface through the means of a double pendulum. the chaotic artwork is achieved through a single automated arm provisioned with a rotary encoder attached to the fulcrum of the pendulum. as the robot sways from side to side, the swinging motion of the arm is intensified through the physics of inertia, which then manifests itself erratic paint strokes through the quick release of paint from the spray can.”

LED Gym Floors

Posted in contemporist, dope, electronics with tags , , , , , on January 31, 2013 by Zeven

A German Company (ASB Systembau) created this dope idea for a innovative way to keep your game up to par, whatever game it is that you play! The system known as “Lucio English” is a semi-transparent floor with LED’s implanted within them, allowing the creators to guide led lines into the playing field. The type of games that this state-of-the-art technology supports are Basketball, Handball, Tennis, Volleyball  and even Badminton. So actually your playing on a thick glass that’s durable, just imagine, turning any area into the type of sport you would play? I think this would be a great way to play a game and also defines those “out of bounds” balls so there would be no confusion on the courts!  Check the video below on how the LED  glass floor works!
