Good Morning | Depressed?

Monday_Summer

Depression, its undetected, it sucks, and it can be dangerous. It happens at the worst times it seems, yeah, there’s medication that can treat such an emotion, but who wants to take pills for a natural emotion. What if I told you there was a cure for this? Read below to  get the cure!

As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. Where can I go and meet with God?”

Psalms 42:1,2 (NIV)

Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my savior and my God.

Psalms 42:11 (NIV)

* Though at times we may face depression, we must remember to always put hope in God. Allow His peaceful spirit to dwell within you, providing hope and reassurance.  The psalmist in these scriptures was clearly depressed. But he wept for God, yearning for His everlasting love.

As the life of a deer depends upon water, so our lives depend upon God. Those who seek him and long to understand Him find never-ending life. This psalmist knew his life depended on God. He didn’t rest until he knew his relationship with God was restored.

Depression is a common emotional trait. One successful cure for depression is to meditate on Gods word. Recall how faithful and loving God is to his people, never leaving and or abandoning His children. This will take our mind off our situations and give hope that our situations will improve. It will focus your thoughts on Gods ability to help you rather than on your inability to help yourself. When you feel depressed, take advantage of Gods reassuring, peaceful love. How much of a stronger person would you become if you still praised God even in the depths of depression and uncertainty.

Have A Blessed Day!

Peace, Love & Blessings
