Installed on a main wall of mansion Mecatronique, located in France, LAb[au] raises the bar for installations. Based in Belgium, the LAb[au] agency designed a one of a kind installation that uses light to display hue’s of color on 26×15 squares. The installation consists of a total of 390 tiles which are motorized by a linear actuator.
The piece combines color and motion and creates 3-D patterns on the tiles. While programmed motifs draw black shadows during the daytime, during the evening, colored shadows appear. The primary colors red, green, and blue create uniform illuminations on the installation, making the piece come to life.
Though this piece has way more technicalities involved, the end result is an amazing installation that brings life to any area! I would tell you a quoted price of the piece, however could you really put a price-tag on something so priceless?
