Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and ear with him, and him with me.
Revelation 3:20 (NIV)
Like men waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him.
Luke 12:36 (NIV)
Christ knocked at the door of their hearts, but they were so bust enjoying worldly pleasure that they didn’t notice that he was trying to enter. The pleasures of this world – money, security, material possessions – can be dangerous, because their temporary satisfaction makes us indifferent to God’s offer of lasting satisfaction. Once you stop communication with God is when you’ve begun to shut Him out of your life.
